About
I am a counselling psychologist (MSc) with and a member of both the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and the British Psychological Society (BPS), including the BPS Division of Counselling Psychology.
I have undertaken additional professional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR),
I practise only within the boundaries of my education, training, supervised experience and professional competence.
I am also a Certified Mayo Clinic Wellness Coach, and I have completed a certificate in Mental Health and Diabetes Education through a joint programme of the American Diabetes Association and the American Psychological Association.
My work is informed by an integrative therapeutic approach and grounded in client-centred principles. This means that therapy is tailored collaboratively to each client’s individual circumstances, needs and therapeutic goals.
I believe that an effective therapeutic relationship is built on trust, respect, collaboration and clear professional boundaries.
Personal information is handled carefully and in accordance with applicable data-protection law and the relevant ethical requirements of the PSI and BPS.
Sessions are confidential, subject to professional, ethical and legal limits, which are explained at the beginning of therapy.
